How to find our laboratories:

BioGents' labs are situated in the Institute of Zoology at the University of Regensburg.

The nearest airports are Munich and Nuremberg, a little further away is Frankfurt (see map below).

If you fly into Munich airport, you can either take the shuttle bus to the nearby train station at Freising, from where there are regular train links to Regensburg. All together, this takes about one and a half hours and costs less than 20 €. Or, for a bit more money (about 25 to 30 € per person), but more comfortable: the airport shuttle between Munic airport and any place within Regensburg's city limits.

From Nuremberg airport, you can take a subway ( "U-Bahn"; the logo to follow is a blue U ) to Nuremberg main station ("Hauptbahnhof"), and from there a train directly to Regensburg. Both rides cost about one and a half hours and around 20 €. The airport shuttle also offers a connection to and from Regensburg (about 25 to 50 € per person).

Frankfurt airport has its own train station, with regular connections to Regensburg. They usually take about three and a half hours and cost less than 60 €.

Near the main train station Regensburg ("Hauptbahnhof"), there is a bus terminal from which you can take buses to the university. (Direction "Klinikum" or "Burgweinting"; lines number 6 and 11) Get off the bus at the university ("Universität - Mensa"), and go up the staircase where you will find a map of the university. Alternatively, ask for the way to the Biology Department; also note the map links below..

If you are coming by road, please follow these instructions and use the map links below:

Via the motorway ("Autobahn") A93 from Munich ("München"):

• At the motorway junction Regensburg ("Autobahnkreuz Regensburg"), take the Autobahn A3 in the direction of Passau. You are now on the motorway coming from the direction of Nuremberg.

Via the A3 motorway from Nuremberg ("Nürnberg"):

• Take the exit "Regensburg Klinikum".
• Follow the signs towards Regensburg centre ("Centrum").
• After you have crossed the Autobahn, take a left at the traffic lights, in the direction of the university ("Universität"). This is the "Josef-Engert-Straße"
• Keep going for about another 300 meters until a pedestrian bridge crosses the street, after which there is a car park on the left hand side. Park there and follow the instructions below.

Via the A3 motorway from Passau:

• Take the exit "Regensburg Klinikum".
• Turn right towards Regensburg centre ("Centrum") and the university ("Universität").
• At the next crossing / traffic light, turn left into "Josef-Engert-Straße".
• o Keep going for about another 300 meters, until a pedestrian bridge crosses the street, after which there is a car park on the left hand side. Park there and follow the instructions below.

From the university car park ("Parkplatz"):

• Cross the street to the path next to some greenhouses ("Gewächshäuser") and the botanical garden ("Botanischer Garten").
• Follow this path until you reach an entrance to a large building, which is the biology department.
• Go along the hallway and turn left at the second corridor.
• Walk along the corridor until you come to a hall with a staircase
• Go up the stairs to the second floor ("2. Stock").
• Once you have reached the second floor, turn right.
• Take the second corridor on the left.
• The first door on the right is the BioGents office.

• Should you feel lost, simply ask somebody for help; a sales person who didn't dare ask for help wA found years later, mumified at the end of a dusty hallway.
